It's not out yet, but I'm digging the idea so much that I've already made plans to take home one from the first batch that arrives at my local dealer. This little guy is going to look pretty cool next to my Twin!

I haven't been able to find any press releases or images about this upcoming Champion 600 reissue. Do you have a link or anything you could share?

I just have a printout of my dealer's spec sheet. It's a reissue of the early Two-Tone Champion 600 made from 1949 to 1953. One 6V6, 6-inch speaker, 5 watts or so. Awesome!

Now you're talkin! THAT makes a ton of sense! I knew they had to be going with the two-tone.

Looks like Fender was poking around that $99 Epi amp.

"Looks like Fender was poking around that $99 Epi amp."

JimmySee, I was thinking the same thing. Fender's spec sheet says that the 600 is being made in China and is intended to be inexpensive enough to appeal to "impulse buyers." No complaints from me.

Hopefully this one won't inspire another bitter PTP vs. PSB debate!

If it is MSRP of $266, what does that mean for street, $149?

Just looked up what Two-tone Champion 600 looks like... gotta say - kind of a letdown. I was hoping it would be tweed. I played a '59 once in a music store in Schenectady and I've never gotten the sound out of my head. Just plain amazing. And it had a Pyle car stereo speaker in it. At the time (the mid-90's) they wanted $400 for it which was too rich for my blood. Sure wish I bought it. If this amp sounds anywhere close to the '59 it will be coming home with me.

I don't care what it looks like for $139 (or $129). But I am getting kind of sick of tweed and black. Weird that there's all this talk, but no actual product pix.

Looks like $179 to me +/-, but either way, one will be in my house the day my local shop gets them in! Wonder what running two together would sound like?

Gotta say--I love the old TV-front look. I'll definitely get one of these. Impulse purchase, indeed!

And there's no reason why Epiphone should own this market. Fender should have the same or better economic clout in getting these things built and distributed.

I've confirmed with my local dealer that it's true. They are reissuing the two-tone champion 600. They gave me a street price of $200.00.

wow!
thats great news! to be honest, id have prefered a tweed-champ myself. but who knows - that little guy might have something special going on and that may be why the fender-guys chose this one instead of the more "popular" 5F1.
anyway - im looking forward to check one out!
cheers - C.

Too bad this baby couldn't be Made in Cuba -- after all, they already drive around in all those old beat up 50's cars! The Champion 600 would fit right in to that scene.

It's not China -- but both of them do start with a C and end in an A!

Hm, that's nine potential countries by my count, including China.

I'm glad they went back to an older design!
