It is a Fender Duo-Sonic made in 1956.My friend is selling it for the original owner and said he will sell it to me for $1500.There is a photo below.

Thanks for the posts.Yes this guitar is very clean and it is original except the tuners have been changed for repros(originals are in the case)Date On the neck is 10-56 and the pot codes read as 20th week of 1956(or 1946).Neck plate number starts with 16xxx.He bought it in 1957 with a 1957 Fender Deluxe tweed(my friend is keeping the amp).

Me too,oh well.Since I posted this thread,I had new buttons put on the the original tuners so now the originals are back on the guitar.

I picked up one of these at a pawn shop a few years back. I spotted it and asked them to hold it while I got cash from an ATM. They were asking about $395 for it, w/case. I did go to the ATM but also ran by my house and looked one up on Ebay. They were going for about $1300 then. I went back and bought it and to make things sweeter, I found the original owner who told me all about the guitar. He wanted a Strat but could only afford a Duo-Sonic. I sold mine for a little over $1300.
