On 7/31 we play at a dockside bar from 2p-6p. This is a good paying gig and we want to make a good impression so we get future work. It will prob be 102 degrees. Plus our bass player is away. For a 4 hour gig we are gonna have to play a lot of stuff which we have not done for awhile. Plus we are learning a lot of new songs. It's not supposed to be stressful, is it???

Not supposed to be stressful? It's work, and with work often comes stress. Sometimes it's just part of the deal.

Are you saying your band won't be ready, have enough rehearsed material? To me that's unacceptable -- unless you just got the gig as a fill in 11 days before or something.

Oh no...we will be ready. We are dusting off some seldom played material and adding some new stuff. Our normal gig is 3 hours, this gig is 4 hours. We'll be fine.

With 100+ degree temps at a dockside bar/party, my guess is that after the first set, the rest of the gig will be a breeze.
Have fun!

Played quite a few, though not mid-day, as you are. Usually a breeze by the water, if you're shaded, you should be good to go. Extra material is always a plus. I've seen these run long (w/comps). Them boat people like to party! Enjoy!
