It's barely been listed a day, and already getting plenty of attention. Everyone's entitled to their bidding approach, but I'm amazed when folks jump in so early.
What do you think this will top out at?

If playing loud is not a requirement, these guitars really can't be beat.
I owned a '56 for many years and always grabbed it if I knew the volume on the amp wasn't going to be high. The hollow body WILL feedback badly with the volume up.
However, the TONE at moderate volume is utterly FANTASTIC. FAT FAT FAT!!!
I'd look for this one to go to close to $4K.
Super lightweight axes.

6, I was thinking close to $4K also. I'm basing that on some things I've seen on Gbase over the past couple of years (admittedly, always on the high side) - but there's one on there now, not nearly as clean as this eBay model, and I think they're asking $4500.

You know, these guitars are SO good that they really are worth whatever you have to pay to get one.
It's amazing so many people don't know about them, but then again they didn't make many.

That's mightly sweet looking example. I played one briefly in a store once several years ago. It was reasonably priced but it was not in as nice a condition. Wished I'd bought it then.

So I should forgo my search for a DeArmond M75 and buy this instead? ;-P
...and I'm assuming that having new frets really doesn't de-value the guitar at all, as long as it's a decent fret job?

Shouldn't be a problem. Most folks look at things such as fret jobs and neck resets as being "normal maintenance".

Yep! $3949 plus shipping put it right at $4K. I was hoping maybe you'd be able to pick it up, Sanchez.
Someone just bought a fantastic guitar worth every penny he/she paid for it.

6, I bid on it, but timing prevented me from going all in...I'm in the home stretch of an old car restoration project (48 merc woodie), so I really had no business bidding at all (but that didn't stop me ;-))

I am so smitten with those guitars....o.k., I gotta ask the dumb question: who is Phil X? Does he own a shop? Still has the 59 hang tags.
Edited to say nevermind on the Phil X question...through Wiki, I found a link to his home page.

After watching that video, I don't think I'd walk across the street to hear Phil X if you gave me free front row tickets...
That said, the video does not even begin to do that guitar justice. 50's Bluesbirds sound MUCH fuller, thicker, musical than however he had that one dialed in on the AC-30.

That one's a beauty for sure, Sanchez!
However, I'd value it at $5500 max.
