Guitar Showcase (San Jose, CA) has a phenomenal '77 Guild F-50R on consignment from Steve Miller. Why Miller would EVER let this one go is beyond me!

Fantastic SUSTAIN. Clear, ringing, beautiful tone/notes... just a WINNER! I've played Dave Van Ronk's famous F-50R and this one is even better sounding.

The bad news is they want $2995 for it. It's worth every penny of that, but I can't swing it personally. I checked, and they won't take a penny less than the asking price.

If you're looking for such an axe, this is the ONE!

I'll be checking this baby out. Price does seem high though. His opinion on the value of his autograph has always been higher than I thought was justified.

I didn't see an autograph on the guitar.

FWIW, I offered them $2200 cash for it yesterday and they refused. GS said Miller's manager will not discount the prices, PERIOD.

$2995 it is, or nothing.

I should add that they told me Miller has over 600 guitars in his collection and GS has already sold 150 of them on consignment at their full asking prices.

The only person's guitar that would mean anything to me monetarily speaking would be Buddy Holly's, and they're all spoken for. I wouldn't pay a penny extra for any other musician's guitar.

I'll sneak in there and sign it. That should drop the value enough to get you into this fine guitar =o)

Finally got by Guitar Showcase again and the guitar is long gone. Went for full asking price (I'm not surprised).

Anyone in this Forum buy it?
