Not sure if anybody has experience with this little device but i have a question. While recording with an sm 58, i really can't hear myself (electric guitar through an blues jr.) through the headphones at all. My question is whether this is normal or not. I have the volume on the headphones cranked and i can barely hear my signal. In all other recording experiences i've had i was able to hear myself through the headphones clearly. Any suggestions- could i be doing something wrong?

I bought this little guy a couple of months and have since recorded a few clips (practice)
Do you have the input assigned to the correct track? The sm58 is a dynamic mic, so you don't need the phantom power.
Have you tried changing the level from low to high?

I've had one now for a couple of days and love it so far! It blows away my old beat up cassette Porta Studio. The sound quality is excellent. It seems kind of fragile to me. The built in mics work alright also. I've only used it on low setting. On mid or high I'm sure it will be very sensitive. I've barely got into it but, from what I have done with it, it is much better than my old Porta Studio. The manual is actually very well written and, simple to understand so far. I've only read through less than a third of it so far. I imagine I'll have it finished by this weekend. So far this thing works like a charm to me. I've only recorded one track at a time so far but, the results have been very acceptable to me. The only thing I don't like is that when you put in a song name, it only allows for eight charecters! I may come back and, add on my further progress with this great little compact unit. So far it blows the old cassette ones out of the water!
