It's my favorite....so far. The VL2 didn't do enough, never could quite dial in the sound I was looking for in the limited EQ/FX parameters, no PC, (and I just plain sound better and sing with more confidence etc with PC), the VL4 did too much. I was tweaking too much, too many options I never needed or used. Felt like I was tap dancing between every verse and every song. The VL3 gives me the only harmony options I would ever consider, easy-tweak FX, (no numerical parameter setting that go from 1-100 for every little thing), just more user friendly on the fly. And the button layout works better for me. 1st button does A/B parts (A I have only doubling and PC, B I have my PC and harmonys), 2nd button is for FX (I set it and forget it, I get my sound for the night and leave it on), 3rd button is harmony on/off. I leave it on (because half of my patches don't have harmonys selected, only doubling in unison, I can talk between songs and sound normal). So the only button I use for the night is my 1st A/B button. Hold it down and it takes you through 4 patches, each with an A/B part, and that's plenty for me. I know you wouldn't believe it, but I'm a decent singer. I just like what these toys can do for my sound in a band gig, or a church P&W setting. I use the TC gear at church, the VL stuff elsewhere. I like the VL3 the best of all...so far. I keep my levels fairly low, and use my harmonies sparingly. Like all FX, you can wear it out. Good luck with your GAS.

Thanks for the review brother. I wasn't sure about using it with the Strat but I got a response this evening from Digitech and they said it was fine to use with a strat and amp with effects.

Can't imagine why a strat w/ effects would make any diff. The Vocalist should be first in the signal chain, i.e., before any effects or amps and if the instruments intonation is reasonbly accurate you should be fine.

I use it for playing solo and in my 3 piece band. I drive it with the second output on our guitar player's pedal board with the band.

When I first started messing with it at home, it sounded a bit cheesy, but I quickly developed programs that work for the songs I (we) do. It's also made me a better singer, as one has to really sing on pitch for best results.

The other features are nice, however, the pitch correction is awful. It just sounds like a doubled voice and very unnatural.

In my solo act, my feet aren't free, so I use two mics on my stand, one dry and the other through the Live 3. I can switch programs with my right hand, but normally, if I want harmonies, I just move over to the harmony mic. Works great.
