I just recently picked up a mustang III and Ive noticed that it buzzes pretty noticeably whenever the guitar isn't playing or plugged in. The buzzing seems to go away when I keep my hand on the strings. Is there something wrong with the amp?

It's probably a combination of grounding/shielding in your guitar (lamps, computer screens etc interfering), using high levels of distortion in the amp, using single coils...
Probably nothing wrong with the amp.

I had the same thing with mine. In the music room we have a TV, computer and 3 game systems (I am not a gamer but my wife like them and plays with the grandies). Just turning them off didnt seem to do it but made it better so I put them on a surge protector and just unplug them when I want to get serious. No more buzzzzzzing. No problems with the BDRi though just the III.
