The first round is underway & already two surprises (to me anyhow), and some controversy..
1.Flyers comeback to win after being down 3-0. What about the blown call on Briere being offside?
2. LA Kings beat the Canucks in the first game. This is not a big surprise, but they did it with more than just stellar goaltending
3. What's your opinion on Webber slamming Zetterberg's head into the glass? He ended up with a fine, but I thought a suspension was in order.
All you hockey fans chime in. Sorry Darrengoleafs, but I didn't see when Toronto's first playoff game is ;>)

I was bummed that the Pens lost to the Flyers in OT last night.
I then turned on the Thunder/Clippers NBA game and the Thunder lost. A bad sports night!

Caps are starting a rookie goalie tonight against Da Broons.
Hopefully, the B's will show him what playoff hockey is all about.
Got my official #11 Bobby Carpenter game jersey (the only team gear I wear) ready to go.
Go Broons!!

I thought it ranked right up there with Duncan Keith's hit on Daniel Sedin. I guess the only difference is Zetterberg wasn't hurt. Keith got 5 games, Webber got a $2500 fine. That's like pocket change to a guy in his tax bracket.

I was, too. But, in the 3rd, the Pens stopped playing to win and started playing not to lose. When a team does that, they usually end up losing.

I think that the Canadiens were playing golf in January...
And now the media are buzzing about the next coach and the next gm... and the special qualities they must possess to get the jobs.

Wow...
Bruins win 1-0 in OT. Chris Kelly scores with his first shot on net all nignt.
Both goalies were outstanding, as were both D's.
Kind of disjointed offenses with no real flow for most of the game.
Whichever goalie made the first mistake was gonna be the loser.
I'll take it.

I'm hoping the Flyers can somehow steal tomorrow in Pittsburgh and come home up 2-0, but I'll take just the one.
really though, I don't think home ice will mean much either way.
this is going to be a helluva series...

Pens - Flyers: I was shocked they missed that offside call on Briere; linesmen are normally accurate on them.
That late penalty again Pgh was rather questionable, tho.
I keep in mind that the Pens fell 2-0 to both Wash & Det when they won the Cup in '09, so I'm not worried. Yet.
