Can anyone give me some tips please? I just started playing URB and have installed Shadow SH950 transducers on my recently acquired URB (pics in profile). I am having a heck of a job controlling feedback. Last night I had to go wireless and literally stand in the middle of the dance floor to play (everyone thought it was part of our set but I was just trying to stop the feedback.
I have a Fishman Pro Eq Platinum pre-amp but, no matter how I try I cannot get rid of it. It seems a little better when I play without the Fishman and just plug into the head (GB Streamliner 900). I have all controls set to mid and do not engage the additional gain boost.
I grip the sucker as tight as I can between my legs, face the bass f holes away from the cabs etc etc but still not having great success. I don't really want to cover the f holes.
Any tips anyone?
Cheers

I play with several different URB players all using pickups. You might try some kind of a pad to put under the "stick." A lot of low end howl can be vibration coming back from the floor. This all depends on the nature of the feedback.

Do like Mark Farner of Grand Funk: try taping up the soundholes. It actually works.
The oldtimers that played hollow f-hole jazz boxes would stuff the bodies with crumpled paper or foam rubber. That works too, but it's really not practical.
