Hey everyone. Quick question. I'm in the market for a new guitar and have found someone on my local Craigslist that is selling what he calls an "American Road Worn Tele" with a digitech rp50 effect unit for $675. I have no interest in the effect unit, but find the guitar intriguing. I've heard lots of good things about the road worn line.

My question is, does such a beast exist? Everything I've seen online about the road worn series implies that they are Mexican made guitars. Are there US model road worn teles or is this guy pulling a fast one?

I'm contacting him to send more pics and ask if this is a guitar he has had reliced himself or factory worn, but I thought I'd see if you all had any insight as well. Even if it's Mexican, $675 seems like a decent deal, right? If its an american that he's reliced it himself I'm not sure if I'd trust his work.

I think you are right on in your assessment. The Road Worns are Mexican.

I've seen sellers refer to guitars this way and they usually are home relic jobs done on MIA instruments (and it's usually a poor relic job too).

Yup. Turns out is is a home relic'd Highway One body and an All Parts Neck with a Fender stamp a fender noiseless neck pickup and a hot rail in the bridge. I told him no thanks.
