I loves me some Stratocasters. I have other types of guitars, but no other is as musical and comfortable to me.
Both of my killer Strats is of the rosie board variety. Tell me why I need one with a maple board.
Enable me. As if I need it. ;)

I used to have one. Got rid of it for one with rosewood.
You're fine. Breathe.

you need the variety. I have 57 AVRI, 50s MiM, 2011 American Standard FSR, CS Deluxe all in Maple. As well as 4 or 6 Rosewood of differnet styles. May get a Heavy Relic 60s if the price is right. Maybe the CS 56 Heavy relic as well.

If you like rosewood then you'll love maple because maple necks look, feel and sound 19.5x better. Its true, seriously.

Because any serious strat player plays both :-) And there's more: Strat necks are swappable !

I strongly prefer rosewood fretboards, but even I own 2 maple fretboard Strats. (:oD
ps - The main issue is the finish Fender uses on maple fretboards, not maple itself.

Variety.
My favorite Strat was a 54-70. Of course it had a maple neck. My Teles have maple necks and get more playing time because the maple necks feel so good.

Because a maple board will allow you to achieve tones like "this guy's" Strat (a '59 in Fiesta Red):

Never had the privilege of a rosewood neck on a Strat myself. I bought maple because my heroes seemed to play maple. Can't say I've ever found it to be any kind of a significant variable (I've had other guitars with rosewood fbs).

I always preferred rosewood but, I fell in love with my V maple neck. The feel is outstanding, and also find the tone different. Better attack, with a clear breathy tone.
Thats just my take.
I'd honestly have one of each.

I'm thinking a black, '56 CS with the Big ol' V boat neck. Always wanted a Strat like that. Maybe gold hardware. Hrrrmmm.

My #1 reason for liking maple over rosewood: It's easier for my old eyes to see the tiny fret markers on the top side of the neck. Seriously! I find I can't see the white dot on rosewood as well as I can see the black dot on maple. So I stay in the right key and my tone is better.

We make up any excuse to buy another guitar.
