Well, themaestro is now officially retired. 36 years with the same company and leaving the Information Technology rat race. I've been basically on-call for 25 years, so this will be a completely new experience.

My wife works at a school, so we both have the summer off. We will be taking care of all the unfinished projects around the house.

I've been retired almost a full year and love it.. I am constantly amazed that I used to have time for work, I certainly don't have any time for it now.

Ditto that, including the 36 years at one place, last September. I also echo the "how did I ever have time for work" comment.

You're 60! Life is not fare. I'll probably have to work until I'm 65. It will be my 30th year anniversary with my job this July. 7-8 more years.

Congratulations, dude!

Congradulations!

As one who retired just over a year ago, do not worry about alarm clocks! They are useless now. Be sure to check out wake up times at random and bed times as well. 8) I'm still experimenting!

You should, by now, have an idea of what hobbies you'll continue and the new one's you'll want to explore. Remember, hobby time should take up a fair amount of your time from now on!

With that, remember the retired persons code:

1. You shall wake each morning exclaiming your freedom from toil. Example: I am retired! I am FREE! I answer to NO ONE(excepting maybe your wife who may beat you with a broom)!

2. You will start each day as YOU see fit(excepting maybe the consiquences rained down by the aforementioned wife).

3. You will enjoy your time of freedom from toil by observing all the things you couldn't do while you were working (Wifey may still take exception to this).

4. Get a DIVORCE! 8) Wifey has no more control over your freedom! HAPPY DAYS (8D)
