Made from old barn wood for a friend who works at the local GC. 8 lbs.
This will make one heavy guitar. Too heavy for me.

Wow, nice work.
You should name the ones with the big knots "Jupiter I" and "Jupiter II."

I wouldn't mind having a clear coat Tele with one of those knots on the front. Very nice. Brad Paisley will be comissioning you to build him one next.

If Brad would contact me and identify himself, I'd probably do it. Is he an FDP'r?

I just found some more old redwood 1x12 boards. It's close to being quarter sawn. May re-saw them and use them for more tops, in case I build more.

"Is he an FDP'r?"
I doubt he would ID himself, if he was, with the FDP's history for abusing celebrity posters.
Nice work, bBender.

Johnny, I think the Console Steel owner may be someone else besides me. I don't have one.

Here are 3 of them with necks sort of attached. Still deciding on finishes.

Looking good ! I like em all and I love Tele necks but I am especially fond of the one with the strat neck. Is that an AVRI neck ?
With this old pretty barnwood, what colors/finsihes are you thinking ?

Johnny, I'm not sure on the Strat neck. It may be an AVRI.
I'm going to paint one of them either red or black, I'll stain one of the pine bodies a good color but not to dark. I'll use spray or hand rubbed poly for a finish.
Not sure on the redwood top. I should have stained the body before I attached the redwood top. It's hard to finish anything where light wood and dark wood come together. One thing though, all of these are very light weight.

Good color plans Bbender. Cool they are all light.
Why is it hard to stain where the 2 woods meet ? They take the stain differently and the contrast goes away ?
I am afraid to take up finishing after butchering a 70 Guild S100 that was a perfectly pretty red maho
gany.
