Outdoor stage, packed house, high humidity, 90's air temp, storms in the area, gun powder smoke from fireworks, too many beers. I'm not sure what it was but my old Super did some things I'd not heard before. Had to stop to re-tune a couple times but the amp had me smilin' all night. Do you think the weather conditions could effect sound?

Nah......too many beers.

While atmospheric conditions undoubtedly effect sound, being in a high spirited celebratory mode (enhanced by beer) probably didn't hurt either.

Its just like unleashing a big goofy lab at a park with a pond. It finally gets to do its thing, ya know?

I gigged for many years with a wonderful '66 BFSR. It was my all time fav amp!

However, eventually my aging/aching back just said, "no more". Getting that amp in and out of the back seat of my car just got to be too much of a task.

I'll always miss the wonderful TONE TONE TONE it produced. Best amp ever made IMHO.

I've owned several Super Reverbs, BF and SF. They sound best on an outdoor stage where you have to crank it to be heard on a summer evening with beer and a wild crowd. Something about that combination brings out their best tone.

Last night was an especially good night for tone. I wasn't even playing through a SR and I had awesome tone. The rest of the combination was there.

I wonder if speakers get a little dried/stiff as they get older and a wetter night brings out the flexibility.

Although it is a sweeeet amp, I would have to agree with DB. But what's most important here, Senior Dragonfly, is that you were smiling all night! That's good to hear!
