Been 100 or over all week.
Asked my wife why the lawn wasn't mowed today. No I didn't!
This weather is just brutal. And still no rain. With the one lung, I literally come out of the A/C house and lose by breath for a moment. This sucks.
But I'd rather have this than the flooding you guys down south have had. I only lost a home once and know how awful it was. Prayers and mojoe to all FDP brethren being hit by one of the strangest summers on record.
Best to you and you're all in my prayers.

We set a new record today at 101. Tomorrow is forecast to be 104. I'll be at my son's soccer tournament in Bowling Green. It will be brutal for the boys.

SpinDoctor, as you know, probably already covered, but large volumes of ice-cold water and gatorade will do wonders at the soccer tournament.

Water, water, water. At those temps, kids and adults get dehydrated really fast. And for those of you reading this thread, if you or you kids stop sweating in this brutal heat, seek medical assistance immediately.
Don't think you can drink water and bring yourself back. In many cases, unconsciensness comes on VERY rapidly. I've seen it too many times. The next thing you'll see is yourself in a hospital room on a saline drip.
If you're outside in high heat and don't feel the need to urinate every 30-45 minutes, you're not drinking enough water.
I've worked outside in weather like this and gone through over three gallons of water.
Just be safe. This is dangerous weather. My wife and I were at the Air and Water Show down at Lake Michigan two years ago. I drank water in between drinks. She, not so many, and ended up in an ambulance and it was *only* 92 degrees that day!

102 today and s/b 104 tomorrow then we start cooling off Sunday. Two weeks of 100 weather is quite enough at one time. Looking forward to a break for a week or two. Plenty hot weather left this summer. It's only the 1st week of July!

Three days in a hot shop was enough this week. Glad I was off today. Get to do it again tomorrow. Cold snap coming Sunday. High of 81.

95ish here. In pursuit of a band practice, I had the opportunity to drive from my normal location about 2 miles south of Ontario to about 15 miles south, which seemed like somewhere like a 6-10 degree penalty (I mean increase). We were in the eighties, lake-influenced.
Was that 104° a lake shore reading? If so, that's one helluvan oven.

Temperatures finally dropped here for the first time in a few weeks, after fires and other silliness.
Hope it stays relatively insane versus ovenlike for my move in a week and a half.
Water is my friend; dieuretics + this heat: I know what that spells if I screw up.

My two kids and I just arrived in Chicago today. Crazy hot. I have an outdoor family reunion party to go to Sunday, and thankfully, it will just be in the low 80's then.

I found out that the outside temperature indicator in my Honda Pilot only goes to 99. All the banks here were saying 104, but the car wouldn't go higher than 99.
Sure it was hot, but nothing like the 118 I experienced on my 50th birthday in Las Vegas. That was a new record for LV, and even the natives were griping about the heat. I holed up in the Mirage and wouldn't leave the building.

We went to Saugatuck, MI today (on lake Michigan), and it was 80 degrees there. The breeze off the lake was awesome. As soon as we moved inland the temp began to rise. An hour inland and it was 98. We will go back.
