I just bought a never used Seymour Duncan tele bridge pickupfor $15 because the guy who I bought it from said he believes it is the STL-1b (Broadcaster model), but it also could be the Five Two (model STL52-10).
I want the Broadcaster pup. There is no package, it was loose. I do know it is a seymour Duncan because on the bottom of the pickup, his name and logo is etched on the bottom plate. But no model number.
I believe the guy who I bought it from that it is either the Broadcaster or the Five Two because the pics from the website show it could be either of those 2. the wires on it are black and yellow cloth, and has the brass plate on the bottom.
Can someone help me on how to ID which one it is? Thank you so much.

Use a DMM set to Ohms and test across the leads. Factory spec for the Five Two is 7.5k Ohms. Spec for the Broadcaster is 7.6k Ohms.
The Broadcaster's mag pole pieces measure .197" diameter.
The Five Two's poles are a hybrid mix. The bottom three are alnico 5 formula, and the top strings' poles are alnico 2 (hence the "Five Two" name). If you look closely at the tops of the poles, you can actually see the difference in the texture of the metal.

If the label on the botom is gone, the only way to distinguish the pickups is magnet strength.
The test is the force required to pull an iron object off the magnet.
The Five Two pickup has noticably weaker G,B and E magnets.
A small flat head screw driver should be able to determine if there are 6 same strong magnets or 3 strong and 3 weak magnets.
