Count me in the club, Mustang IV owner here! I haven't gigged it yet but used it with 2 different bands and the amp cuts nicely in a band mix.
Very easy to use with or with out a computer I also have the 2 button ft switch to use with the 4 button switch, this setup should make it even easier to use!

Has anyone heard of any mods that would make it possible to run an extension cab with a M-III ?

Can the Mustang V get close to Black/Silver face Super Reverb type tones? I played the Mustang 1 and it had some tones that were really great. I wasn't expecting that!

Yes. If you liked the M1, the M3, 4 & 5 will really impress you. You could tweak the blackface models to get close to a Super Reverb - I would start with the 65 Deluxe. The M1 and M2 with the closed back cabs are different animals...

Your very welcome. This could be a great place to share our experiences with this great line . I used mine again tonight just for a little house jam. Sounded great.
I will have it very loud next week for a festival. I will post everyone on how it goes.

I'm in! I just picked up a M3 for $150 in mint shape used. Unfortunately, no footswitch, or software but I've ordered the 4 button. So far I'm really liking the tones. Very tubelike and organic.

The 4 button switch is the way to go. With the 4 button switch you can switch on/off any effect that you program from your amp.
For example you can set up a clean Deluxe Reverb tone, add the built in overdrive, add delay and then switch then on/off the overdrive and/or delay when needed. You can't do that with the 2 buttton switch. You can only select the next patch up or down.
You can however add a 2 button and 4 button switch with your M3 for even greater control.
Congrats on you M3.

Used mine a band practice last night, gonna be a really tough decision next weekend gig, DRRI or M3. It's a smaller venue where levels can be a problem and it is easier to deal with with the M3 but love playing my DRRI and pedals.

I got the 4 button switch, it's better than nothing, but I'd prefer a floorboard like Line 6 uses. I can see it would be tough to use it in a cover band situation where you need to switch more than 2 patches in one song. I can see it making it critical to how you lay out your presets. But I'm still liking the tones a lot(I've got my Spider IV on Craigslist). I think it's a great grab'n go amp.

Count me in to the "herd." I picked up a MI when I was teaching and out of the box, I was pretty impressed. Then, I discovered the Fuse software and really started to dive in like a true geek. After about 6 months, I traded in my old Crate Vintage Club (50 watts, 3X10, gorgeous blonde finish) for a MIII. That has been my go-to for a little over a year now. I'm a little sad to say that the MI that got me hooked is in the basement with the rest of my Crate collection, gathering a more dust than I'd like to admit.

I really like my MIII. Not sure about a more expensive pro version. The design doesn't lend itself to endless repair, so I think the low price is an important feature. I tip back my amps. I'd prefer a front panel and I think the footswitch really needs a digital readout. Other than that, I think the amp is pro quality as is.

I've followed some of the Mustang threads over the last 6 months or so, and ran across this as-new Mustang IV in a pawn shop last night, and it followed me home for $325 cash. The software and connecting cables hadn't even been opened. Life is crazy busy this week, so I haven't really had a chance to "open it up" at home, but I rattled the window of the pawnshop when I tried it out! haha. Send me my membership card, I'm in the club!

Hi, new here, just got a Mustang 3, it didn't have the 2 button FS, does anyone know how the 2 button switch is wired? I have a generic switch that I could convert with the right schematic

Did you buy the MIII new? If you did the 2 button switch should have been included.

Just my opinion here, but you're not missing much without that 2 button footswitch. You need the 4 button anyway. A footswitch is meant for live playing, so what good is it without a readout showing you what patch is active? If you're playing music and trying to entertain people, the last thing you need is to have to guess what sound is going to come out of your guitar.

The M3 I bought was from another store in their small chain, 4 stores, I guess during the transfer the 2 button switch got lost.
They gave me the 4 button switch to sweeten the deal, which is great. I do play live and would like to have the 2 button for tap tempo and up and down.
It would be nice if the FS had a nicer readout but I use my iPad with a set list app and I can add the 2 digit preset number to each song to make sure I'm on the right sound.

You are much better off with the 4 button switch. Good deal.
