It takes a lot to stop a G-K, but even they aren't waterproof.
Good luck on the repairs.

Next time you drown it. Don't turn it on for a couple weeks and use a heat gun on it several times during the couple weeks.

I'll repair it myself. I have the service manual and can do any work myself. The fan vent on top was not a good design. I'll also build a case for it, as compact as I can make it.

I hear that rice takes moisture out of electronics.

It is dry. I left it open in the sun for several hours. Unfortunately, I could find no 125V 8A fast acting fuses in my stash, so I had to order some. Nowhere local had any. Hopefully they'll show up before I play Saturday.

Just make sure it's not yet cooked! :)
I've heard that if your cell phone takes a bath, throwing it into a bag filled with rice will help dry it out. It's nature's desiccant!!

I didn't power it up until it was dry, but it blew the fuse. When the water went in, the amp was plugged in but not on.

I plugged it in last week. It is fried. Plugged into a series lamp it showed a short, and there's over negative 10 volts DC coming out the speaker jack. I'm sure one or more power transistors is burned.

Had a gig Saturday, so I used my 1970 Acoustic 370 head, with my EV 15" cabinet (4 ohms, Carvin neo speaker) with a 2X8 cabinet crossed over at 500Hz for mids and highs. It was a hoot. TONS of solid, room filling low end, and enough highs to satisfy my clanky, clicky, stringy high end. But very old school sounding and feeling. I enjoyed it more than I ever did my GK. I've been thinking of getting a Class D, lightweight head (which this 370 isn't.) I'm leaning towards an Ampeg PF500.

I haven't had time to pull out the main board yet, remove the power transistors and start testing. Hopefully, next week.

+1 on the PF500. Great sounding amp in a lightweight package.

I played a GK 700RB II for 4 or 5 years and loved it but my new Genz Benz Streamliner 600 with 6 stage tube preamp (3 12AX7's) running at 300 volts and Class D output (total weight 6lbs) simply blows it away. Much more versatile and tube tone does make a difference. There is a 900 watt version also.

Yes, I did and love it! Much better than Black on this bass. Hey, and I am not even a tort person but this is a reddish tort instead of bla brown.

Too many irons in the fire at the moment. I'll be using my Acoustic 370 until I get the GK fixed. I had to rebuild my pedalboard to get ready for the next several gigs. I actually want to spend more time with the Acoustic for a while. I will have a decent backup along as well.

Sounds good Steve. Acoustic 360's are/were very nice.
