In my work I have a tried and true type of Winter work boot that I stick with.
For the hot summer months I just never found that work boot. Usually I go for an over the ankle hiking type boot.
So I'm looking for a ankle high hiking boot that breaths and has good arch and ankle support. Looking to spend around $100-150.
Any suggestion

There's lots of stuff out there and you really just have to determine your needs for what type of hiking and then try stuff on.
Me? I wear trail runner type shoes.

Go to REI or a similar store. Browse their online store to.get familar with brands and models. Hiking boots have a stiffer sole, especially if you are carrying a heavy back pack.

I hike quite a bit - I'm currently hiking with Merrells. They have different models, including some over the ankle models. I'm using a lighweight below the ankle model currently, but I think I'm going to switch to above the ankle for my next pair. They have the VIBRAM soles which hold up very well even hiking on rocky trails. I think I got my Merrells at Dick's Sporting but REI is also a good place - they carry a good selection and the people there usually know what they are talking about.

This is my go to shoe. On top of being a fantastic trail shoe, it is waterproof. I use the shoe for running (5k - I am just starting out running but got the stamp of approval on these shoes from some experts) and hiking.
In the winter I pair it with gators for light snow shoeing.
I think they come in a mid rise model too. Can't recommend them enough.
I am on my second pair and I found that this second pair I purchased runs a bit larger than the earlier pair. I bought a 10 (again) but now wish it was a 9.5

I like Timberland. They feel right straight out of the box and last a long time. I have the same ankle boots in both vented for summer and waterproof for winter. The waterproofs can be a bit warm in summer on an all day outing, unless of course you're crossing some water. That cools them a bit.
Aaaaaand, they're not made in China!

I've had Merrells, they are very comfortable right out of the box but every pair I've had blew out where the side meets the sole in less than a season.
Vasques lasted a little longer but were not as comfortable.
I just picked up a pair if Keens -- they seem pretty rugged. We'll see.
(Full disclosure -- I'm larger than your average hiker so I'm probably harder on boots than the manufacturer expected.)

My foots like Keen the best. Long hours standing....many, many miles walking and average to heavy hiking. I have several different models for specific applications.
I like the looks of some of the others mentioned above, but my dogs are calling the shots for me.

It's all about fit.
I buy New Balance because they are one of the few brands that makes a 4E.

Hey Artic,, I really like the New Balance athletic shoes for the very same reason. Their selection of widths is second to none.
Well after looking high and low for a good shoe a particular New Balance hiking shoe kept coming back to the top of the list. My wife told me we have a New Balance store here in town. I could easily bought on line to save some money but I thought I would try them first. Well the sales person there definitly new his stuff when in came to feet and properly fitting shoes. I was impressed. The guy told me that I was never sized correctly that my feet really aren't as wide as I thought I needed more length.
I bought a pair and am very happy with them!!

Keens here. I have two pair, and both are fantastic. Very comfortable yet rugged, and they stay together despite being abused pretty hard.
Don't go cheap, because the bigger money you spend on quality will make your long-term comfort worth the "extra" expense.

The Vasques I have been using the last few years are the best hiking shoe I have ever used. Very comfortable and my feet have never gotten wet, and that's saying a lot for up here. They cost a little more than your budget but if they make an inexpensive model I'd give then a look at at least.

Most of the recent times I've been in the woods its been kayak related, so it's usually Teva sandals or sometimes barefoot if I'm feeling my inner Cody Lundin.

I'm out-dated but I used above-ankle lace-up leather hiking boots for all of my Big Bend, Colorado, Oregon, New Mexico geology work....under both severely hot and cold weather situations. They were glorious, and even comfortable. Lasted through probably 300 field excursions...had new Vibram soles put on once. Finally the leather wore through, and the insides were wearing away as well.
