Today's record breaking high was 113. And now the wild fires have started.

I'm going to do a rain dance, wash my car and everything else I can think of for some RAIN!

ps - I'm only supposed to water my lawn twice a week now. Goodbye to the remaining green grass!

Wow. You guys are getting scorched. I'm thankful that this summer is the first time in about 5 years we've had a traditional rainy season.

Only 95 here today, but I felt like a grasshopper under a magnifying glass. The sun was simply scorching.

Don't even bother, 5, the detergent will dry before you can get to the hose to rinse it off!

Sorry to hear about the roast factor. Why not play a blistering solo on that Flying V in tribute to the rain gods? (;oD

"Goodbye to the remaining green grass!"

Heck, we have an irrigation system and are only using it to keep the lawn alive. To hell with green. In 1988, we had a third acre of grass that didn't go dormant, but died.

But the weeds did outstandingly well. Weeds. The cockroaches of the grass plant families!

I gave up on green grass a couple weeks ago. We've been 44 days now without a drop of rain.

My water bill would be $600 this month if I tried to keep it green.

The wild fires are my biggest worry. Last year some got too close for comfort.

WE have wild fires all around us,, the sky has an eerie look to it ,combine the extreme heat, smoke filled sky and the smell of smoke in the air, it gives a feeling that there is an inferno outside..

Just read on Yahoo about a little OK town that basically burned up today. It was somewhere around OKC. We are dry in west Texas also but you guys may be dryer.
We've only been allowed to water one day per week but I think they lifted that and we can water twice a week now.
We all need some rain.

We're on about day 75 with less than an inch of rain. Some rain around today, but it all went north. Again.

105 here I think. Not all that unusual for early September. Supposed to cool back into the 80's by the end of the week.
