I played quite a few guitars throughout high school in the mid-late 60's, but my favorite was my red, 65 Mustang. I mistakenly sold it in college for $60 (it needed a fret job) and have regretted it since.
Now, Squier is releasing a Vintage Modified Mustang. I need another guitar like a hole in the head, but I'll sell something to buy one of these.

Yea, waiting for my finances to even out to get a surf green Jag and one of those, enough though I have a perfectly fine MIJ '69RI Mustang and a Classic Player Jag.
Reports on the Mustang say the bridge is sort of iffy, but I half wonder if it was from somebody who's just not familiar with the original cruddiness of the things. If it sucks, I'm sure you have one in your box of parts or can scrounge one up for $20.

I didn't have problems with the bridge on my 65, but I didn't use it much either. They can be a pain. A friend bought an old Mustang in the 80's and had me secure the tailpiece, disabling the vibrato.

I've never had a problem with the ones I've had, from RI to '64 and a '65.
Just reporting what I've seen from the one at length report I've been able to find from an owner of the current one.
And yea, not that the Mustang's bar is anything to write home about but the guitar doesn't sound right without the trem (the Duo-sonics etc I've played are all missing something and I assume it's the trem).

Nice!
Glad you found one, getting some of these models is a little silly right now.

Had one backordered on MF, but I cancelled it as soon as a seller on eBay had one pop up.
Really looking forward to it.
