I just got the new signature George Harrison Duo Jet and this guitar is fantastic. I could not find a flaw or anything negative about this guitar. The case I would have preferred it to be black, instead of the awful tweed exterior. That is the only issue I have is the case, not the guitar. I would think that someone in the design department would have thought that a black case would have been more original than this terrible looking tweed.

Outstanding! They are great guitars, with bucketloads of tonal versatility.

My only gripe about them is the bar bridge. Some folks claim if you change it, you won't sound like George. Well, that's not gonna happen anyway :o) But if you play up the neck, your intonation will be way better with a decent bridge. I installed a Schaller roller on mine and pinned it (see link).

The tweed case *is* hideous. But plenty of folks like them, and it is an upcharge over the black Tolex one. If you prefer the black one, take your brand new pristine case to your local Tone Depot (GC, etc.) and ask if they'll trade you a new black Gretsch case for your tweed version. I'll bet they would.

I've been playing mine for a few years now and its starting to show some wear from playing out and being black etc. The case has grown on me and from the looks of it shows. The one thing I'd like to see is a Gretsch soft case for any duojet! Black with a Orange logo would be great!

A Tru-Arc bridge will retain the look and sound but improve the intonation up the neck
