I love my 6120DC and have used it onstage a couple of times. My concern is string breakage during a live show. Now, I'm not one who breaks strings on a regular basis, and the ones that have broken were mostly at the bridge on Fender guitars.

To me, the Gretsch should be less prone to breaking strings. But if it did happen, can you get a string changed quickly with the Bigsby?

Yes, provided you have in your kit a small pair of needle-nose pliers and a capo. Use the pliers to put a J-shaped bend in the ball end of the string. Slip the ball over the retaining pin on the Bigsby, pull the string taut, and install a capo on the neck to keep the string from slipping off the pin. Then attach the string to the tuner post and tighten to pitch as usual.

When I gigged with a Gretsch, my spare strings all were pre-bent at the ball end.

Made for super-fast string changes when needed.
