I just bought a used HAMER SATP90-GT.
The seller (2nd owner) said that the Hamer P90s and pots were replaced by the first owner with Gibson P90s and pots.
I had no problem with that, and he also threw in the original Hamer P90s and pots.
After the sale, I checked out the control cavity. The pots actually were Epiphone pots. The creme colored replacement PUs had had metal braided shielding on the wires. I don't want to pull out the PUs at this point, because they sound fine to me.
I do have 2 questions:
1) Are Gibson and Epiphone P90s branded in some way so I can find out who made them and when they were made?
2) Are there any differences in the sound of Gibson and Epiphone P90s? Since this is my first P90 guitar, I don't have any frame of reference.
Thanks

Anything I can offer would be a guess.

Best bet is to pop them out and post a pic of the top (cover removed) and bottom of the pickups you have there. A side shot of the wire helps too--because there are different coil wires used by different makers.

I don't know about the branding but they do sound a lot different.

I just put gibson P90s in my Epi Sorrento and couldn't believe the sound difference. I thought the epi's sounded ok until I heard the Gibsons.

I did a little research and based on the fact that these PUs have braided shielding (Epiphones don't have the shielding), I think they are Gibson P90s.

There is more tonal definition and volume in the Gibson P90's. The Epi's are weaker and less defined.

Peegoo, looks like he is a non contributor and would have to put his photos on the internet somewhere and post the link.
