God Bless my wife. She LOVES the sound of resonator guitars. I did not have one. For Mother's Day I ordered a Gretsch G9240 so I would have a resonator for her to hear me play it. :o) Happy Mother's Day my dear. I will give it all the love and respect that it deserves.
It's a "laminated" (plywood) top guitar but, for no more than I will probably use it, it will be good enough to make "THAT" sound whenever I may need it. I'm going to have to dust off my slide chops.
Pics after it's delivered.

Ive been kicking around the idea of getting the G9221 model. Spider bridge with the metal body. So far I've only heard one online and it appeared to be plugged in. It sounded good but these things are so subjective. I guess it's order and hope. There seems to be squat locally so trying before buying is out. The spider bridge in a metal body is kind of unique so I may have to give it a shot.
I already have a Regal that I upgraded with a Quarterman cone etc. It has the sound but the neck is way too narrow for me.
I did play an Alligator recently and liked the sound better than I expected but the biscuit bridges just aren't my thing. It played well and was pretty responsive.
