If you can't play good, play loud

We play Wednesday Night BBQ's at a local Elks clubs through the summer. Did our first one last night. My wife showed up halfway through. By then we had drunken patrons dancing in front of the band. I noticed one of the drunker ones talking to my wife, and then dancing in front of me, as drunk chicks sometimes do. Then she went over and talked to my wife some more, and I saw her lean over the whisper something to my wife.
Turns out, during the conversation, my wife told the drunk chick I was her husband, which prompted the chick to go over and start "targeting" me with her dance antics. Then, instead of whispering something to my wife, she leaned in and bit her on the neck! Left a mark and everything!

I mean, I've seen bar fights, and dancers falling on their behinds, etc. but biting one another?? Do I have to worry about my wife and friends coming to our gigs now??

You need to book better gigs so friends and family can continue to enjoy your music. I would have told the manager what happened and ask what are you going to do?

I think your wife should seek medical opinion. You don't want her infected with god knows what from that skank.

Didn't break the skin, but it did leave a mark but a bit. Granted my wife has sensitive skin...

Our music attracts older and - you'd assume wiser audiences. But I guess theres always one in every crowd.

If that's not a great band name, at least use it as the title to your next album!

Your wife is a tolerant person. If someone bit me like that they would (at a minimum) have an elbow dent in the side of their coconut.

Oh my! I'd have sent her to jail. Hell with the gig.

You never know what you have with a drunk chick. never.

Maybe she was looking for something? A special 3-way relationship?

I think it's possibly an old girlfriend of mine. I remember she got like that sometimes.

Reminds me of some of the things I have seen from the stage. I don't think I had ever seen a real knock down drag out fight until I started playing in a band. I have seen some really big fights.

In almost 40 years of gigging, the only trouble I've seen was a couple of years ago playing a Workingman's club, when some young 'uns wouldn't keep quiet during the Bingo. Harsh words were exchanged and there may have been a heated confrontation in the car park afterwards. ;-)

By the way, I have played lots of Biker gigs, including some Hells Angels organised ones, and never seen a pick of trouble.

"I have played lots of Biker gigs"

I've played a ton of them as well and never had an issue with someone causing trouble.

We only played at places where the patrons had to prove they had been vaccinated for rabies. Never had a bite problem.
