I want more that file sharing. I'd like a photo site. One like photobucket was years ago. Before the shark-jump.

Man, has Photobucket ever gone down the tubes! Seems like each time I've gone there since reading this thread, I'm deluged with more and more pop-ups. It's relentless!

And PICs are taking longer and longer to show up in my library after I upload them: we're talking hours.

I tried to look at a photo hushnel has hosted there and because of my adblocker it wouldn't show it. Either I turn my adblocker off or no photobucket. You can guess which I chose.

It's been 3 hours since I uploaded my last photo and it still doesn't show in my library.

The place has become useless.

Try "Imgur"

I'd post a link, but using my iPad leads me to photos and an offer for some sort of viewing ap instead of the normal, working "Home" that I would get on my PC. It's free, and my photos are available within seconds of uploading.

My use of a photo hosting website is modest; only used as a means to post photos. There may be limitations on use, but I am not aware of any.

Yeah, I'm moving to Imgur.

First the barrage of pop-ups rendered Photobucket nearly un-navigable.

Now they've blocked all my links to photos posted in other forums unless I meet their exorbitant ransom demands.

Judging by by the number of blocked PICs (other peoples' as well as my own) I'm encountering everywhere I go, I'm guessing that this strategy of theirs has got them well on the way to becoming one of the most despised websites on the internet.

Had they asked for a more reasonable fee for third-party linking or simply given people the choice of reverting to no-pop-up-usage of their site for a reasonable fee, they might've had better luck generating revenue. Doing it as they have, I predict that they've mainly generated nothing but angry resentment.

I'm trying out PBase. I'll probably go with that.

^ + 1,000,000. I keep getting the 'upgrade your account for third party hosting' message. Think I'll go there now and close the account. Wish I used twitter and could think up some ascerbic, biting witticism to destroy Photobucket in a soundbite.

Just turn 'em into a Spoonerism.

What's a spoonerism? Here's a sample:

Snail Tracks = trail snacks.
