This is kind of a delayed reaction, but I figured I'd make a short "yee-haw" post about this guitar. So, I had been trying this guitar out at GC for months and finally caved in and decided it was worth it. I only own 1 other guitar, an Am Std Strat, so that's my bass line reference.

GC wouldn't give me a deal for their floor model, they said "5% is more than enough of a discount", I laughed at that sh*t and walked. I got it online for 15% off with no tax brand spanking new, so I was a happy camper.

So anyways, a couples reasons I really like this strat. It's the only MIM strat that comes with a full-size steel bock like the AVRI series guitars. That's not a mandate for me, but it sounds like to me it contributes to the sound, and makes the guitar sound really full, while at the same time having a stronger high-end than my Am Std strat. Likewise, I'm a really big-fan of the clean sound of this strat, it really oozes a vintage vibe more-so than my Am Std, the flips-side being the classic series doesn't handle distortion quite as well as the Am Std.

This is a bit of a late NGD as I've taken about a week to let the guitar settle and get it setup correctly. I was actually pretty frustrated at first because I didn't like how it sounded floating, it seemed to have a really stubborn lack of definition. Now that the bridge is resting on the body, it's much more suited to my taste, and I find that I can use all the pickup positions with assurance that I'll get a consistently good sound.
