I know there are other threads on this, but I just picked up a modded Rivera-era Super Champ with a new oak cab and 12" WGS speaker. Gigged it tonight, and this thing sounds amazing. Replacing my Top Hat Club Royale 20, as it's just too bright, although a heckuva nice amp. The SC is a heavy little beast.

That leaves me with all Fender for my funk band ('70s Musicmaster, new DRRI and the Super Champ) and a Marshall Vintage Modern to use in Mama's band. I may end up just using this in both ...

Who else gigs with one of these and what do I need to know?

I owned an incredibly cherry one for several years and have deeply regretted ever selling it...it was a really great amp. A collector offered me $1K for it and I couldn't refuse the offer.

I was deeply in love with a brand new one in 1983. I demo'd the '83 Telecaster I bought, with that Super Champ. I unfortunately could not afford both at the time. Fantastic sound.
