FDP Forum / Amp Mods, Repairs, and Projects / Power Transformer

I am looking at the Fender export transformer specs for a Supersonic 60. They show the heater current to be 3.75A when the amp is drawing 4.2A. (2x6L6=1.8A, 8x12a?7=2.4A.
Does this not seem strange? I think it is because they are using the same tranny in the Hot Rod deluxe which is less demanding.

You can't really compare the output current of 3.75 amps directly with the input current of 4.2 amps, because those are on two different windings of the transformer.

Transformer windings can have different number of turns and that changes the voltages, currents, and impedances.
