The instrumental "Buckaroo" by Buck Owens and the Buckaroos (did Don Rich write this?) seems a lot easier to play than it is.

This lesson on Youtube is good. I know how to play it correctly now, but my execution isn't consistent yet. That's what I get for playing it wrong for several years. (:oD

Of course the Clarence White version off of The Byrds Live at the Fillmore 1969 is harder to play.

Here's the version by Clarence White playing live with the Byrds. The B-bender he uses and his picking ramps up the song a notch or two.

The key is to get the fingering correct so the hammer-ons occur at the right times, the right notes sustain and the effect is not choppy or disconnected. You can pretty much see what Don Rich is doing on this vid, starting at around 0:33.

And please appreciate Don's awesome pink suit.

I've been playing that one for years.

Turns out I've had it pretty close to correct.
(:^O)
I still can't execute it the way I'd like!

I'll keep chasing it, though.
Thanks for the lesson link.

Bill makes it look like a caveman could play this song, he makes it seem so easy. But of course, as we know, its not easy to play at all.

Marty Stuart and Kenny Vaughn really rip on this tune, but DAMN Stuart wears enough clothing for three people. He's the male version of Stevie Nicks.

Why does Marty always wear a scarf? Looks like is covering up something.
