I"ve been playing for going on 45+ years now. I started out a huge Hendrix, Clapton and Page fan. And over the years I have admired hundreds of guys most of the general public never heard of.

In the last year or so I have steadily developed a sense of awe over John Frusciante. His life has had it's ups and downs. I don't know if I would depend upon him by loaning him my car.

But his guitar playing is truly transcendent. I"m in a bar band. I'd give anything to have Flea as my bass player and let me wail away on my Start and hit those bends.

Agreed. To me he makes everything sound simple & easy, until you actually listen to what he's doing, or, Lord help you, try it yourself. I don't mean just his technical ability. He really adds depth to even the simplest passages.

He leaves me cold with RHCP, but his solo stuff has definite moments.

I totally love his rhythm playing, but never quite appreciated his soloing.

I wan't necessarily a JF huge fan in the past.

But what got me started on this topic is that my bar band buddies exchanged some song suggestions "How about some Chili Peppers stuff?..."

So I thought "...I"m not sure if it's Bar Band stuff...lemme watch a bunch of YTs and see if there is something out there..."

Here is what I had in mind when I posted the homage...
