Nice stack!

I need to build me a guitar like this. I think that all I'm missing is a neck.

Everything you need and nothing that you don't. Les Paul's "Log" proved this a long time ago.

I like his "workbench".

I was in a crap hole on the other side of the earth 15 years back, and our suppliers brought in some full-pull 2" x 12" x 10' beams so we could construct a few dug-in bunkers for ourselves.

The beams were mahogany, with no knots or other defects. It was some of the finest slab mahogany I've ever seen, and here we were digging it into the ground and making bulkheads and roofs out of it.

Needless to say, our three bunkers all smelled like the inside of an acoustic guitar. It was lovely!

I rrrrreally wanted to cut off a few pieces when we vacated the site and ship 'em home for guitar projects.

Not only was it nice wood, but as a guitar--the story of how it saved a few lives would've been pretty cool too.

Most of you have probably heard the (true) story about how back in the '90s, Bob Taylor made a guitar out of wood from a ratty pallet he scavenged off a loading dock in order to demonstrate that design and construction are more important than "tonewood".

Martin did the same thing too.

I've built some pretty nice things from scavenged pallet lumber, but not a guitar...yet :0)

I see this progression ending in air guitars.
