Looks nice but pricey. You'd think if the guy demoing it for Fender could afford that amp, he could also get some new pants.

I saw it today and was considering it and culling my amp herd until I saw the price. $2,500 is ridiculous, but some will sell.

Saw it. I think Fender is quite late to the party considering how many boutique builders have successfully established themselves in this market, and at a much lower cost.

I have a Vintage Sound 15 (BF Princeton in a 12" combo). Very pleased with it and I know the builder, Rick Hayes, has several BF Deluxe Reverb models that are 6-8 bills lower than the '64 Custom DR.

If it sounds as good as it looks, I gotta go with Fender, and NO ONE pays list for heaven's sake.

I hope they'll be further discounted at local shops, but Fender's practice (and Gibson's, for that matter) over the last few years has been to eliminate the discrepancy between MSRP and MAP. Fender's website is showing street prices.

It's all gravy from here on...

It is fairly well in line with its other hand-wired offerings. The Deluxe is $1999 so if you figure adding bigger transformer, more tubes, reverb and the like, $2500 isn't that off-base. Still more than I'm paying.
