It's not just good..

...it's good enough.

I like 'em both, but I'll give the nod to the hash browns.
And if it's going to be home fries, a little onion is just fine by me.

Living in the northeast, grits are not easy to come by in the local breakfast eateries. But when they're available, I do enjoy them!

There's a restaurant here that makes a hash brown dish with tomatoes, green pepper, onions, ham and jalapenos (if you want them) topped with cheese. Have them throw a couple over medium eggs on top and it's the best post gig meal ever. They call it Heavenly Hash for a reason. :)

For me....when it comes to breakfast, simple is best. Starting off the day with heartburn and indigestion isn't my idea of a good time. :-)

There's no time that anyone mentions grits that I don't think of the court testimony in My Cousin Vinny "No self respecting Southerner uses instant grits".

I happen to be a fan as well. I think I had grits with breakfast three times in my recent week in South Carolina. You can't find them here, and if you did, it would probably be the culinary equivalent of going to South Carolina and eating pizza.

Great, now after all this talk and watching the Cowboy cook up those hash browns, I'll be having a breakfast for dinner this evening.

"I'm out of eggs! That hasn't happened in years but I'll be in town later."

Easy solution. While you are there, you need to pick up some chickens.

I buy two 18 packs of eggs at a time.

My breakfast is usually some variation of 2 eggs, low sodium Turkey bacon, corned beef hash, and whole wheat tortilla shells.

But not all at once.

Home fries for me -- unless I have grits.

But grits are good for dinner too if you add some cheese and top with shrimps cooked low country style.

I've been eating better these last few years.

Shredded wheat, almond milk, yogurt...

Easing into geezerhood.
