Yes, I'm doing this again and it is always a blast. Great musicians, good food and a bit of adult beverage.
We begin at noon and play electric music until just after dark then we do acoustic stuff until everyone either passes out of goes home, typically early am of the next day.
Complete backline and PA is provided. Bring a guitar, drum sticks a keyboard. All level of play are welcome, beginner to Pro and we will have all in attendance. Just stop buy and say hi as we always have an audience.
The venue is my home. We play on the patio poolside. Hope to see you there!

About a year ago I joined The Surf Kinks a SoCal progressive surf band. We will be doing a set at the jam party on the 21st.

Man, this sounds fun! Pretty far from the Valley, but I'm considering it!

These have been a blast for the past 15+ years. We've had FDPers all the way from the bay area.

FYI. Good news is the Jam is on and going to be great. Bad news is there will be no appearance by the Surf Kings.
Major attitude issue with the bass player IMO. I'm no longer with the band.

Whaaaaat?
DANG! Sorry to hear that!
But you're right to bail: playing music should be fun. If it's not--someone is not doing it right.

Can't wait to meet you Jim. Entrance will be through the side gate behind the boat!
Peegoo,
This is not the first time this guy has blow up a band, gig, reunion, etc. Technically "he" fired me however after talking face to face with the other bandmates this was pretty much his doing.
There is plenty of surf music to be played in the future. The 1st guitar player, a first wave surf musician already wants to begin work on a traditional surf project with me. He also wants his '65 Showman fixed! Har!
Back to the Jam:
Going shopping at Costco Friday morning. 4 cases of Corona Beer, Italian sausage, Chicken Apple sausage, a Bottle of red, a bottle of white, buns and all the trimmings are on the list. I'm thinking we need a cheese cake too!
I should have 40-50+ people come and go throughout the day with the stage always "HOT".
So with Jim we have Cleveland, Phoenix and San Diego attending this year.

Well, I'm not going to have any transportation on Saturday, so unless someone else is coming from the Valley and can bring me along, gonna have to miss it. Jeez.
I wonder why those guys would continue to associate with that bass player if he keeps doing dramatic stuff like that. Is he a co-writer or something?

I continue to ponder exactly the same thing. Not a co-writer or co founder. Sorry your stuck in the valley. Hopefully someone else will decide to come out and give you a lift.

Great Party! Lots good players and singers. Tasty food and drink. Nice people, great host. Played my Johnny Marr Jaguar through the restored 61
Fender Concert (full circle, 1st Fender amp I played through was my guitar teachers 61 Fender Concert amp in 1962). The Hammond 101 guitar and musical instrument collection is impressive. His homemade 6L6 blackface Deluxe/Vibroverb is a perfect desert island amp.
Thank you for including me. Hope I can do it again.

Thanks for the kind words Jimmy. Many thanks for making the drive. That Johnny Marr sounded great. I fun to run that surf stuff with you!
