Rocky,

What pickups were in that Strat?

I can't remember. I'm thinking GFS. They were just so-so.

I suppose I should take some pictures of guitars some time soon.

I have no way to herd them together and take a family shot. Not here.

Here's a challenge, Eric. You must acquire the number of guitars as the final post tally in this thread. :oD

Mikey,

I was telling my wife the story about the greatest guitar I’m never destined to own - your Epi.

She just looked at me funny and asked, “why didn’t you buy it?”

They’ve been making those for a couple years now. It’s pretty rare to see one hanging in a shop. Lefty or righty. My local shop has a righty now. It does look good.

I would be more tempted if they offered these with AlNiCo pickups of some sort.

If I were in the market for another Strat, I'd jump on that Plus Top Standard. Then down the road a bit, I'd swap the pups for a set of AlNiCo ones.

I prefer maple boards on Strats and Teles. But I do like beefier necks than what MIMs offer. At some point I'll do a neck swap on my double fat Strat.

Come to think of it, I don't have a Strat with a maple board. Hmm...

Nah! First, I want to build a Tele with the neck you sent me. :o)

She is very supportive and easy going. All the right things are being done, financially. So my hobbies are of no concern. In fact, she takes great interest in them.

I’m in a beautiful place these days. (-:

Great to hear, Eric!

I've considered buying an unpainted body but I suck at working with wood and I'd be bummed if I messed it up. I'm keeping my eye out for a painted body at a dirt cheap price.

Thanks! I'd go for any solid color except maroon (already have one) or a tobacco burst. I'd love a butterscotch but they're pricey.
