I got bored and turned it off before things got interesting.

The whole "SEC love fest" thing with ESPN gets on my nerves too.

I've got no love for either team but the elephant in the room in my opinion is that Georgia got robbed by the zebras. I saw a QB facemask takedown, no call. An unnecessary roughness after the tackle, no call. Ref 5 ft away. And the worst, an off-sides call when it just wasn't true. All a critical times towards the end of the game. Maybe the ref's had money on Alabama...

I wouldn't bet against that jhawker. Many failures by the officiating crew last night...too many to not be suspicious, but we can't worry about that now...what's done is done.

Sorry 5Strats, but down here we don't see any "SEC love fest" out of ESPN...quite to the contrary. I suppose it depends on your POV and where your allegiances are.

Jalen was again too slow to make decisions so this time they DID bring in Tua, and that was all the difference. So now the Tide has a QB controversy? When Tua gets a bit more experience he is going to be something else.

Georgia had everything going for them..and I thought they were going to run away with it after the 80 yd. TD..

But the Tide's defense stiffened up the rest of the way....

Nick Saban made a genius move and it paid off...

Awesome game....

I thought it was a great game. I really didn't mind who came out the winner but was pulling for Alabama just a little. The final 4 were definitely the best 4 teams this year.
If any other team should have gotten in it would have to be Wisconsin.
Lots of great football teams this year.

If you live in the SE US, you probably pull against Alabama by nature. The beat your state's university year after year. And I'm no different.

But Alabama deserved to win. They are almost always unbeatable.

Deserved? I wouldn't go that far. Good team? Yeah, almost always...and it gets to be a little annoying that year after year they are at the top. The SEC is for the most part a very strong conference and there are schools that are rising in strength and recruiting that will certainly challenge the Tide next year and for the next few years. So, the times will be a changin' for sure just hard to predict just when. :)

The SEC would go far in improving the Bama favoritism perception by moving the SEC main office out of the state of Alabama. Move it back to Baton Rouge, where it was originally. =)

As an LSU fan, let's just say I've seen far too many, ummm, questionable calls go the Tide's way over the past 45 years.

Um, you guys do realize that this was not a SEC officiating crew, right?

Yep, just pointing out the influence of the Red Elephant Club - even on Big 10 officials. ;-)

With instant replay, challenges and reviews, it is getting more and more difficult for a ref to make a questionable call.
Most reviews come up with what really happened.

In theory, yes. In the SEC, not always. The replay booth in the SEC is located - guess where - in Birmingham. The head replay official is Steve Shaw, a Bama grad.

It was a good enough game to keep me up too late while on a snowboarding trip.

Was disappointed in GA's second half management. They played conservatively and Saban played to win. Too many running plays up the middle which never work against bama and too few jet sweeps in the second half.

Not to get too much into SEC football but as a UT grad/fan it made more sense for me to "want" 'bama to win (what's another bammer title vs GA setting up a dynasty, etc) but at the same time 'bama's success is just so infuriatingly nauseating that subconsciously I wanted GA to run away with it..

Great football either way.

Is it just me or did it seem like the ROTC guys flanking Trump for the Anthem were trying to distance themselves from POTUS while nervously scanning the stands for the shooter somewhere up there?

-----"Wasn't the halftime show wonderful?"

Well, that's one word for it! While I'm not a fan of the genre so have no comment on it's quality, I did wish to slap him silly and tell him to keep his hand off his junk as it makes him look like an imbecile.
