I have an EarthLink e-mail address for many years. I have a couple more. Only EarthLink spams me no matter the level of screening. I have spoken with Earthlink and they have not been able to help me.

One spammer in particular has been able to go around the screening and has been able to circumnavigate my "blocks".

The spammer varies8-12 figures after contact and there is no logic so I suspect random.

contact@(from 8-12 digits and letters)aeloa.us

I have tried a dozen ways to block this cretin...
but my attempts at blockage are now greeted with this message" you have already blocked this address".

I am going to dump this e-mail address which I have used for at least 15 years.. I am done with them. But (much as the dopers are driving me out here in weedville).. I want some success and payback revenge before I leave.

Anyone have any suggestions to block this intruder... I get up to 60 e-mails a day from this sender.

Thanks.

We gave up on Earthlink in the early 90's after having less than stellar experience with them. I didn't even know they were still in business.

If you can't block an IP or domain, get rid of it. I can't imagine that you can't block aeloa.us from your account, however.

It seems EarthLink can only block a specific domain. When the spammer generates the random numeric domain that precedes aeloa.us EarthLink can't handle it.

You are more familiar with your ISP than I, but the following (admittedly a few years old) details how to block entire domains.

"To block an email address, click the Edit Blocked Senders link, then enter the entire address into the box, then click the Block this Address or Domain button. [To block an entire domain, enter just the domain. For example, to block email from anyone at sampledomain.com, type sampledomain.com into the box, then click the button."

Could this work for you?

I abandoned a long time hotmail email address because of this kind of stuff. One of the bastidges found my new address. Its a spamming Canadian pharmacy and they just keep changing domains to work around the block. .ca, .can, and all sort of variations of "pharmacy". Its a spamming game I think.

I get the same thing with spoofers that call me from fake numbers with my same area code and exchange. I started to quickly answer and hang up, but now they'll hit radial repeatedly so eventually I give up and they deliberately leave dead air voicemails. These people deserve 2 behind the ear.

Never, ever answer those calls. Now they know it’s a live number, and they can resell it for more.

If I don't answer they'll get voicemail. Won't that be as good as an answer in their quest for live numbers?

Doesn't work as they keep changing the letters before aeloa to get around blocking the domain.

EarthLink has not been able to help.

I will dump them at the end of the month when I have contacted anyone who has a legitimate reason or invite to use my earthlink e-mail address.

Dumping EarthLink will save me $29.95 a month.

Just out of curiosity, does Earthlink have a function that allows a one to deny email access to all but those addresses listed in his/her "Contacts" list ?

Just throwing things at the wall, here, to see if anything sticks lol

I suppose, if you were "married" to that email address, you could use a third party client (Outlook,Thunderbird, EMclient or some such) to collect/collate your Earthlink mail (and any other accounts you may want to access from one location) that might have better blocking written into it's code.

14 more..
I will axe earthlink by end of Feb...
I have given them until Feb 1 to handle the problem.

Even if they do, they're gone.
BTW I do not want to speak to "Tom" in India.

Wildcards - try blocking “*@*aeloa.us”. If this is supported, any senders ending in aeloa.us will be blocked. The * means anything.
