FDP Forum / The 'Pup' Tent / Bare knuckles pickups

Anyone ever hear of these pickups? They have one they made called "The Boss" where they claim it gets the Springsteen sound from the early years....anyone vouch for the sound of this bridge pickup or info on this pickup? If you google this, Bare Knuckles is actually the maker of all pickups.

I've not played any BK's but they are a popular brand and I've ready many positive things about them.

There's just too many great pickups out there nowadays to have heard them all.

I'm confused by your statement:
"If you google this, Bare Knuckles is actually the maker of all pickups."

Can you expound on that?

It was just for info only about the google statement ...

Never used them but like Mick said, they're popular and have been around a while now. As far as the Springsteen descriptive, well, lol.

Marketing. It's probably a fine sounding Tele set.

Why do I keep fixing things that work?

I think the statement should have read, 'maker of all types of pickups'.
A lot of manufacturers have used these pickups and get excellent ratings. Even Knaggs has a few models with these installed.
They have a reliable reputation and would buy from them for the type of applications you need.

Marketing probably is correct..lol but after a youtube video comparison with a standard tele vs The Boss, they do have a punch and hotter sound similar to the Springsteen tone used?

I don't know The Boss, but I have a Bare Knuckle Mississippi Queen HB sized P90 in the neck position of my Epiphone Sheraton and it is brilliant.

I'm sitting here drinking tea and typing when I should be taking a set of their Stormy Mondays out of a friend's Peerless 335, which are also very nice. He's only taking them out as he's selling the guitar and can't get what it's worth with those pups in.

I put their Irish Tours in one of the same friend's strats. And he has a Blackguard set in his tele.

Oh and, Rebel Yells in his Les Paul! Those are hands down the most fun I've ever had playing a guitar. They will howl and scream without losing any clarity or definition, and stay rich and sweet without ever becoming harsh or brash.

Can't fault Bare Knuckles, they are fantastic pickups, just everything you want in a pickup as long as you choose the right model for what you want.
