My sis and fam got me some books for Christmas for guitar. One is a great book of Barry Galbraith's solo guitar arrangements of standards. They range from intermediate to advanced.

These were taken from original Mimeographs of Barry's Handwritten scores. He was truly one of the giants of jazz yet never sought the limelight for himself. I have a lot of respect for him. He played on hundreds of albums from pop to jazz and only ever made one album of his own. "Guitar and Wind" if you are interested. It's on youtube.

If you are interested in some solo guitar jazz arrangements I definitely recommend these. This book also has tab for those who aren't bothered with reading notation.

I've especially taken to this tune near the beginning of the book. It's for sure not the hardest solo guitar out there, but it's a little trickier than it looks and sounds.

I've been working it up for a week or two now here and there. Mostly standard chord shapes in jazz. Nothing very "Ted Greene-ish" here.

It took me a bunch of takes to get one down I was happy with top to bottom. This still has mistakes and I could just be plain better at it but I think it's at least representative of what I can do.

Hope you dig it.
