FDP Forum / Guitar Mods, Repairs, and Projects / Pickup Shorting Out - HELP!!

I have a lovely 2010 or so MIM FSR Tele with noiseless pickups and built-in preamp. When I first plug it in to play, all works fine but after an hour or so, the bridge pickup starts to cut out (starts to sound like it is being played through an old transistor radio!). The neck pickup continues to work fine as does the preamp (only with the neck pickup, of course). I presume the 3-way switch is still okay because when the bridge pu goes out, the switch still seems to do it's job.

Any ideas for what the problem could be? Any helpideas would be greatly appreciated.

Reverse the two pickup hot wire inputs to the preamp and see if the problem reverses.

My guess would be cold solder joint or cracked trace.
