Someone has a Fender Bronco amp listed on Craigslist.
He has reduced the price three times.
Is anyone familiar with these amps?
Thanks!

The latest rendition of that amp name was a narrow panel style blond tolex cab and oxblood grill thing with a 15 watt or so solid state chassis inside. My understanding is that they are pretty pathetic. All show and no go. Practice amp.
The older hand-wired Bronco was the same as a tube type black or silver face Champ with a red lettering Bronco faceplate. Fender sold these to schools and such to not compete with instrument dealers selling the Champ. Cool amp, I'd love to have one. Baby tone monster.

The original Bronco from the late 60s through the mid-70s is a Silver-face Fender Champ but with red lettering on the face plate. These were often sold as a set, along with a student guitar of the same name. GREAT recording amps!
The Bronco guitar was a down-market version of the Mustang.

There was a solid state 15 Watt Bronco with an 8 inch speaker and had about the same sound quality as any of the small Fender practice amps.
Fender covered that version of The Bronco in Tweed. Seems it was built around 2000-2005?
I found one on eBay under "Fender Bronco Tweed Amplifier." About $175-ish. No bids and only an hour left.

I just recalled that Fender has reused the model name "Bronco" on a 40 Watt 1x10 bass combo amp. Pricing seems to be $150-$250 on "the shipping dock of daBay". These came with black cosmetics (Tolex and metal mesh grill both black).

I loved my tweed SS monster.
It actually sounded pretty damn good.
Gave it to somebody who loved it more than I did, but I'd grab another for cheap any day of the week.

How did this work out? Did you see the amp for sale? If it turned out to be the late 60's Bronco you'd have a shot at stealing it.
I have a '69, the one that came with the guitar as a learners combo set. It is the vibro champ dressed in red.

I don't know the year, but he just lowered the price again to $165, or best offer.

I would be down there in a heartbeat with $150 in my sweaty mitts.
