Ordered an MXR Carbon Copy Delay from the Guitar Shop in New Orleans. It was their last one. I received a personal call from them on Wednesday telling me an employee purchased and took it home failing to put it down and ask me if I would accept a Carbon Copy deluxe. Said sounds good. This pedal is awesome, quiet, a lot of features.
Great investment in fact the best I have acquired.

The CC is a very popular delay pedal among amateurs and pros alike. The Mod feature is subtle, but it adds a very nice dimension to the delayed signal.

These pedals are made with very good parts and they last forever if you keep them out of the rain.

You were treated right by The GS!

Very nice! MXRs are built to last, so says EVH.

Wow! If you got the Deluxe for the same price as the standard, you did really well! That’s good customer service right there.

I’ve had the CC on my board for about 6 years and it’s never come off. I think you’ll be very happy with it. Hopefully you have enough real estate to accommodate the extra width.

Like Mick I have the CC permanently on my board. If the Deluxe is the same thing with extra features then it's a great score.

Mick, no worries about real estate at this point. I have mainly played bass for the last several years and just started getting back to guitar. Trying to decide whether to by or make a pedal board. Saw a cool one in thin oak with a cherry stain and poly finish. Top was 3 separate boards with space in between to run wiring. If anyone has idea’s on one to buy that will hold an expression pedal, Carbon copy deluxe, a 3rd pedal when and if I get one and 2 button pedal for my fender amp

We had a 2018 pedalboard thread recently. Might be some inspiration there :^)

I use the original Carbon Copy for slapback delay.

By contrast, my analog Maxon AD999 is too dark sounding, even though it cost be a lot more than the CC.

"By contrast, my analog Maxon AD999 is too dark sounding, even though it cost be a lot more than the CC."

A few years ago Dunlop released the Carbon Copy Bright to address the "dark" repeats of the standard CC. The Deluxe CC has a "Bright" button on it.

I find that interesting because I haven't found the sound of my CC to anything I would call dark.
Certainly not unpleasantly so.

I do have a good balance of true bypass and buffered bypass pedals plus low capacitance cables, so maybe that's the difference.

Very cool! My Carbon Copy is the only pedal I use, typically. Once in a while I'll add OCD Distortion, but MXR delay is Heaven on its own.

For the record, I've had a CC since the beginning and have never seen what the big deal was.

It, my TC Flashback, and Boss DD3 take turns on my board.

I agree. I haven’t used the bright button much at all.

Pinetree - I have a Flashback on my pedalboard for longer delays.

Boo-teek pedals can be NOT worth the money. If you have a production model pedal that you like a lot, but think it will sound even better if you replace it with a boutique unit, it may not pan out. (I sold my Strymon El Capistan delay.)

Congrats on the find!

I've had a CC for a long time but needed tap delay. I bought the Wampler Faux Echo just before the Deluxe hit the market I use the CC for slapback and the Wampler for tap. It's a great setup.

The Forum recently had some issues, and the photo database had to be restored, so it may not have been intentional deletions on the part of the individual posters.
