FDP Forum / Fender Guitars: Stratocasters / re american deluxe strat pickguards circa '98 through '01

I used to own a '99 or '00 American Deluxe Strat (SSH) and recall it having a mint green pickguard. I recently picked up the same model Strat but a '98 version and noticed the pickguard is parchment color. I've searched the internet for owners of '98 American Deluxes and noticed all have parchment guards (so far) and I scratch my head at when the mint green guards started showing up on these.

Does anyone know when the '98 through '01 American Deluxe Strats began shipping w/ mint green pickguards? Was it first an SSH thing and only later done model wide? If you own one of these guitars and can chime in w/ your experience, that is appreciated.

Some extra information: I do know that this model of Strat ran from '98 to '03. Per a website I ran across (http://www.fuzzfaced.net/american-deluxe-stratocaster.html), all versions came w/ parchment (aged white) or tortoise shell guards; but I do know and remember owning one w/ mint green...

As an aside, I will explain why I am asking in the first place. I want to replace the parchment guard I have on my '98 w/ a mint green one from a '98 guitar (I know, I know) and want to know if my search to keep things same year is a vain search.

My 2003 America Deluxe HSS Strat (called a "Fat Strat" at that time) in chrome red came with mint great pickguard. I'm don't know about the late 90's, however.

My '01 AmDlx SSS in sunburst came with a parchment guard. It now has a gold anodized PG on it :-)

Thank you both for your replies. I also had an HSS Fat Strat from ('99 or '00) and know it had the mint green guard. I am beginning to think maybe just the HSS ones came that way.

Thanks again.

The mint green guard IIRC was a "feature" of the revamped American Standards - one of the grand unveilings that was on the FDP Strats if memory serves (not that I could afford one).
