I never ever had a Marshall, mostly Fender amps. I was looking for something different. I found it in this amp. Since I don’t gig anymore the weight isn’t an issue. Neighbors might , but that’s another story.

I really like the green channel on this amp. Nice boomy bass and easy to get ABB tones on this Channel. The cleans are impressive.

The red channel OD1 gives me some nice tones reminiscent of ZZ Top to my ears and some nice AC/DC as well. The OD2 channel gets into later Van Halen to my ears. The red channel is quite bright though. Somehow gonna figure out how to tame it. Maybe just let the speaker break in. All in all a great amp. Reverb is a tad bit weak though.

I’m still lovin’ mine. For me it was a return to Marshall

The last time I was in a band was the late ‘80s and I had one guitar, one amp and one pedal. And that amp was a Marshall.

I plugged my tubescreamer into the green channel for a minute and it did sound good , but decided I should be able to coax better sounds out of it without it because , eh its a Marshall, thats what they do best.

Congrats!

Are you running it 40 watts for 20? I love having the half-power feature.

A Tube Screamer in front of an old-school Marshall is a righteous thing.

5strats, im using the 20 watt setting right now . Its plenty of power . Yes leftee, that tubsescreamer is dang good . I am working with all the channels to see what I like and what I dont. Im thinking of clipping the bright cap at some point, but want to give the speaker a chance to break in first .

I had a chance to stop by the local GC and noticed they had the updated version. It appears they built the full/half power switch into the standby and added 2 master volumes. The gentleman that helped me is a big marshall guy and gave me some good advice about Marshalls.

I don't currently own a Marshall, but I played through one a few weeks ago at a jam (it was a JVM something-or-other combo amp) and it sounded amazing.

Guitar, cable, amp. Simple and effective!

Made me sound better than the guitar player I actually am.

So now I've got a minor jones for one...
