Playing wrong notes for over 50 years

I'm returning to the forum after about 3 years away.

I'm also returning to a guitar I once had, sold and now have replaced with another of the same, the Squier BSB Tele. I bought a loaded body on ebay and used the Maple fretboard Squier neck off a different Tele I had. I have a rosewood fretboard neck coming to put back on the old Tele.

I came here looking for the old thread about the BSB Tele, but unless I'm missing it, I can't find it. I would have thought there would have been hundreds of posts in it by now. I looked in the Telecaster section too and didn't see it there either. Anyone remember it?

Any ideas?

I am curious whether anyone knows a source for some things I'd like to do to mod mine.

Dude! Welcome back.

You're not searching correctly. Remember that the search function will not hit on three-letter combinations.

I found several threads on the Squier BSB series from the years 2006-2007.

Go to the search page and set it up like this:

Search Words: "Squier BSB"
(be sure to use the quotes because it's a literal string)

Search In: Topic Headings

Search Forum: Active Forum

Search Dates: Any Date

HI PEEGOO!!!

I just scrolled through about 5-6 pages of topics looking for it. I don't think I knew about the search looking for more than 3 letters. THANKS!!!

The body I got is totally stock and I want to read back pretty far looking for the people who wrote about finding after market parts to mod theirs, most particularly bridges.

From recent experience I can tell you that import Teles and their bridges are all over the map. There isn’t a lot of design consistency. Screw and string holes, etc.

Hi Leftee, nice to meet you...

This is just a case of me being goofy and wanting a BSB Tele to look as much like an original 52 as possible. I was hoping to find a cup bridge, maybe even one my ashtray would fit on.

I think from what I've seen is that the 1/2" difference in length is simply going to require me to fill, color and finish the exposed holes where the current bridge was. I might eventually drill through the body if my buddy with a drill press has time.

I'm not unhappy with a top load bridge actually. I would like to find one with barrel saddles because getting the string bent in a way that shoots it up through modern saddles is a PITA. There's a lot more room with barrel saddles to grab the string and get the changing done.

The fun continues...
