There's a tiny little guitar shop between here and where some extended family live. It's in a finished off garage and has been around for many years. The older gentleman that owns it has cool old stuff in every time I visit. Usually the coolest stuff is his and he is reluctant to sell but has it out on display.

Today I stopped in and got a chance to play through his 1962 Vibrasonic. Magic!

Having once been in the music retail business, we always referred to "shops" like the one you mentioned as museums. Personally tends to chap my behind a bit to go into a retail shop and find items I'm interested in buying only to find they aren't for sale. On the other hand, very cool amp you played through and I'm sure it was a great experience.
