Me either Leftee. He got it for $100, said it sounds decent. Going to play through the Marshall next week.

Looks like a typical cheepo MIC/MII/MI? Teleclone.
The cool thing about these cookie-cutter guitars is they're made on CNC machines and the basics are all there. With a little TLC, these "disposable" guitars can be turned into pretty nice players that can rival anything costing hundreds of dollars more.
Even the cheap no-name tuners and pickups these days are pretty good.
The area to focus on is the frets. Level and polish them, and set it up, with attention to the nut.

The thing to keep in mind about these cheap-as-chips imports is to preserve the "deal" you got on it.
What I mean by that: if you spend $100 on the guitar, $100 on pickups, $50 on new tuners, $25 on pots and a switch, $20 on a cool pickguard, and $10 on a jack, you have $305 in it.
You can find a pretty nice 2nd hand MIM Tele for that amount and will probably make back your purchase cost of you ever sell it on. The cheap no-name body/neck guitar, even with the upgrades, might get you 50% of your investment back.
Alternatively, if you're doing the mods simply to make solder smoke and turn screwdrivers, then that's a valid reason too. I understand that because it's therapy for me.

I discuss this in Chapter 1 of my upcoming book "How To Overcapitalise On Your Cheap Guitar and Lose Money Every Time".

That's covered in Chapter 2.

I think he paid $50 too much for that guitar.
Here's one that sold for $50.

Mrs. Gorham was my babysitter back in 1953.
Didn't realize she'd made the career change from child care to lutherie...
